In my last week’s column film Director Peque Gallaga expressed his
disappointment on the way how our government officials acted on Typhoon Yolanda.
He is not alone, majority of Filipinos are also disappointed.
I am long disappointed of the way our government is run. It is not only now but long time ago. My past columns documented my feelings.
Actually in our present government set up many things are dissatisfactory. You can easily see how corruptions seep from top to bottom. While the government is easy on a corrupt fellow like Janet Napoles, it hits hard those who express their disappointment on the government. Just like in Fyodor Dostoyevsky "Crime and Punishment" this government is quick to act on small timer "criminals."
Just like on the case of Zara Alvarez and Aniceta Rojo. They are locked up in a prison cell perhaps without pity as they are considered dangerous to society. I tried once in Cadiz to interview Zara Alvarez but gave up when the jail guard told me to get clearance from their top head in Iloilo.
